# EngMock > EngMock (engmock.com) runs live AI mock interviews for software engineers: a real-time voice interviewer, a system design whiteboard or a coding workspace, and a scored report with the evidence behind each score. Four interview tracks: system design, coding (DSA), object-oriented design (OOD) and AI-assisted coding. EngMock is an independent practice platform for engineers preparing for interviews at technology companies and frontier AI labs. It is not affiliated with any employer, and its practice questions are never presented as official or leaked questions. ## Key facts - EngMock (engmock.com) is an AI mock interview platform for software engineers: a live voice interviewer runs the interview on a whiteboard or in a coding workspace, asks follow-ups, and writes a scored report from the evidence in the session. - EngMock has four interview tracks: system design, coding (DSA), object-oriented design (OOD) and AI-assisted coding. - The library has 100 mock interviews: 43 system design, 25 coding (DSA), 26 object-oriented design (OOD) and 6 AI-assisted coding. - Every coding question (algorithm, object-oriented design and AI-assisted coding) can be answered in any of nine languages: Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C++, C#, Go, Rust and Kotlin. - Algorithm and OOD interviews offer Runnable Coding or Whiteboard Coding (No Run); AI-assisted coding uses Runnable Coding only. Runnable Coding runs your code in a sandbox with no network access, and the interviewer sees every run. - Interviews last 45 or 60 minutes and are held to a Junior, Mid, Senior or Staff bar that you choose. - New accounts get two Free Credits: each covers one complete live interview on a Free Credit eligible scenario (Find a Pair Matching a Target or Design a URL Shortener), with its full report. - Interview credit packs are one-time purchases in USD that never renew: Starter $10 for 5 interviews, Value $25 for 15 and Ultimate $60 for 40. One credit covers one complete live interview; credits are valid for 90–180 days, and every pack includes 30–90 days of Question Bank access. - The optional Unlimited plan costs US$9.99 a month and renews until you cancel: unlimited interviews, one at a time, on your own Gemini API key, plus Question Bank access. Google bills that key for model usage by tokens (pay as you go), usually about US$1.50–3.50 per full 45–60 minute interview. - Reports give an overall score out of 100, a score out of 10 for each skill, a result against your target level, quotes from your answers and a replay of the session. - The Candidate-Reported Question Bank collects paraphrased interview questions reported by candidates, without published solutions; it is included with every credit pack and with the Unlimited plan. - AI-assisted coding interviews (6 questions, 2 of them in an existing codebase) let you use EngMock’s own coding assistant, the only AI that counts; grading looks at your code, your runs, your conversation with EngMock’s assistant and what you explain to the interviewer. - VS Code mode (preview) lets you answer algorithm, object-oriented design and AI-assisted coding questions in your own VS Code through the EngMock extension while the voice interview stays in the browser; it uses Runnable Coding and the extension installs from https://engmock.com/downloads/engmock.vsix. - My Scenarios turns your own questions into private system design, algorithm, object-oriented design or AI-assisted coding mock interviews that you practice with the same interviewer and reports; creating one needs purchased interview credits or an active Unlimited plan. - EngMock’s MCP server (https://api.engmock.com/api/mcp) connects MCP clients such as Claude, Claude Code, Codex and GitHub Copilot CLI to your account; interviews themselves always run on the website. - EngMock is independent and is not affiliated with LeetCode or with any employer. ## Interview tracks - [System Design](https://engmock.com/system-design): 43 system design mock interviews on an interactive architecture whiteboard. - [Coding / DSA](https://engmock.com/coding-interview): 25 algorithm problems in a single-file editor, in any of nine languages. - [Object-Oriented Design](https://engmock.com/ood-interview): 26 object-oriented design problems in a multi-file workspace, in any of nine languages. - [AI-Assisted Coding](https://engmock.com/ai-assisted-coding): 6 AI-assisted coding interviews (2 in an existing codebase) with EngMock’s own coding assistant. - [Mock interview library](https://engmock.com/questions): All 100 mock interviews, by track and difficulty. ## Features - [Feature overview](https://engmock.com/features): Every EngMock feature on one page. - [VS Code mode](https://engmock.com/features/vscode-mode): Answer coding questions in your own VS Code through the EngMock extension while the voice interview stays in your browser. - [Coding workspace and sandbox](https://engmock.com/features/coding-workspace): Algorithm, OOD and AI-assisted coding questions in nine languages, with Run in an isolated sandbox. - [System design whiteboard](https://engmock.com/features/interactive-architecture-ai-feedback): Draw the architecture while you talk; the interviewer reads the boxes and arrows you draw and asks about them. - [Interview reports and scoring](https://engmock.com/features/interview-reports): An overall score, a score per skill against your target level, the evidence behind each score and a replay of the session. - [Custom scenarios (My Scenarios)](https://engmock.com/features/custom-scenarios): Turn your own questions and notes into private mock interviews with the same interviewer and reports. - [MCP server](https://engmock.com/features/mcp-server): Connect Claude, Codex, GitHub Copilot or another MCP client to create scenarios, read reports and get an interview’s setup link. - [Candidate-Reported Question Bank](https://engmock.com/question-bank): Paraphrased interview questions reported by candidates, by company and type, without published solutions. ## Pricing - Free start: New accounts get two Free Credits: each covers one complete live interview on a Free Credit eligible scenario (Find a Pair Matching a Target or Design a URL Shortener), with its full report. - Interview credit packs (one-time, USD, never renew): Starter $10 for 5 interviews, Value $25 for 15 and Ultimate $60 for 40. One credit covers one complete 45 or 60-minute live interview; credits are valid for 90–180 days; every pack includes 30–90 days of Question Bank access. - Unlimited plan (optional subscription): US$9.99 a month, renewing until you cancel, for unlimited interviews (one at a time) on your own Gemini API key, with Question Bank access. Google bills that key for model usage by tokens (pay as you go), usually about US$1.50–3.50 per full 45–60 minute interview; the plan price does not include it. - Creating your own mock interviews in My Scenarios needs purchased interview credits or an active Unlimited plan; Free Credits cannot be used for them. - [Pricing page](https://engmock.com/pricing): Current packs and the Unlimited plan. ## How it works 1. Choose a mock interview, or create one from your own question, a target level (Junior, Mid, Senior or Staff) and a length (45 or 60 minutes). 2. Talk it through with the AI interviewer by voice. 3. Draw on the whiteboard or write and run code in the workspace (or in your own VS Code). 4. Get a report with an overall score, a score for each skill and the evidence behind them. 5. Replay the session along its timeline. ## MCP server Connect an MCP client to your EngMock account at `https://api.engmock.com/api/mcp`. Clients that support OAuth only need that address and ask you to approve access on engmock.com; other clients use a personal token from Settings → MCP, sent as a Bearer header. Each token or connected app gets only the permissions you choose. Setup guides cover Claude, Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot CLI, GitHub Copilot in VS Code, Cursor and Gemini CLI. From your terminal or editor, your MCP client can create and edit your private mock interviews, get their practice links, read your interview history and reports, search the built-in mock interview catalog and the Question Bank (with access), and summarize your progress. The `prepare_mock_interview` tool returns an interview’s setup link, its durations, what it costs and a short checklist. Interviews themselves always run on the website; MCP never changes billing or starts an interview. - [MCP server](https://engmock.com/features/mcp-server): Setup, permissions and limits. ## Key pages - [Homepage](https://engmock.com): Overview of the platform. - [Software engineer mock interviews](https://engmock.com/software-engineer-mock-interview): The interview loop, track by track. - [FAQ](https://engmock.com/faq): Frequently asked questions. - [Learn](https://engmock.com/learn): How each interview is run, what is measured and how the bar changes by level. - [Candidate-Reported Question Bank](https://engmock.com/question-bank): Paraphrased candidate-reported prompts without solutions. - [AI lab interview comparison](https://engmock.com/resources/ai-lab-interview-process-comparison): A sourced comparison of OpenAI, Anthropic, Google DeepMind and xAI engineering interviews. - [Mock interview tools compared](https://engmock.com/compare): How EngMock compares with Hello Interview, interviewing.io, Placed, Aced (Pramp), Final Round AI and HackerRank, from each product's own pages. - [Pramp alternatives](https://engmock.com/compare/pramp-alternatives): Where Pramp went and the alternatives, by who interviews you. - [Company interview guides](https://engmock.com/companies): Independent preparation guides for Big Tech and frontier AI labs. - [About](https://engmock.com/about): About EngMock. ## Optional - [Blog](https://engmock.com/blog): Interview preparation articles. - [Interview guides](https://engmock.com/interview-guides): Role and specialty preparation plans. - [Full text for language models](https://engmock.com/llms-full.txt): This file plus the FAQ and the full catalog. - Contact: support@engmock.com
